With books these days, I’m not forever positive if they’re truthful or devoted to what’s occurring with kids. we have a tendency to remembered childhood as a awfully passionate, upsetting, silly, comic business.

Some of your books are controversial. You mustn’t scare oldsters. and that i assume with my books, I managed to scareoldsters.
I adored Caldecott. in all probability his plan, or my interpretation of him, was that kids’s books ought to be honest to children. It’s not a putdown of these earlier books.
